Paola gained a Level four Practitioner Diploma in massage with anatomy, physiology and pathology from UWIC in 2011. She also worked as a massage practitioner at the Welsh Athletics Championships in 2011 at the 2012 Pre-Olympics meet and the 2013 National Athletics Championships.
As well as working with a range of athletes with soft tissue recovery, Paola specialises in working with people on the Autism spectrum and with special needs and she is person centred and PBS trained in behaviours that may challenge. She delivers deep pressure massage to people with ASD that also may have a sensory profile that highlights the need for deep pressure to be applied because of sensory sensitisation. This sensitivity can also affect people’s balance (‘vestibular’ system) and body awareness (‘proprioception’).
Paola also delivers anatomy and physiology lectures to level 3 sports students and is also a level 5 and 6 qualified Reflexologist.
